Ambient Lighting is one of the most gimmicky features on any vehicle and yet, I personally love it. The ability to choose colors to reflect your mood or style is such a fun thing to do. However, there is a lot of misinformation surrounding whether or not the Hyundai Palisade actually has ambient color changing lighting.
To be clear, yes there is color changing ambient lighting but there is a video that has been circulating around various owner groups that showed an aftermarket kit. This information was then passed around as being the interior lighting kit which is simply not true.
In fact, the Palisade Lighting is a lot more subtle than it’s Kia cousin the Telluride.
Ambient Lighting Only On Limited Trim
Only the limited Trim gets the 64 colors changing ambient lighting and it’s only in a handful of places. It is along the center console area (so it goes down the sides where your phone is charging it does not go across the dash). It also is along the door trim for the first and second rows there is no footwell lighting but the Kia Telluride has a paid option for such a feature.
I will say that personally I find the view of the interior lighting better in the second and third rows during the night. If I had one suggestion for Hyundai it would be to add additional lighting in the footwell area (first and second row) and then add a strip across the dash like its Kia Cousin. Or, offer it as a paid addon and I am sure many would be looking to buy.
If you’re looking to spice up your interior lighting game you can purchase a lit kit on Amazon and this eBay seller sells a lot of Korean Market items to the U.S for the Hyundai Palisade including light-up door catch plates.
