For those of you looking at the Hyundai Palisade and love more of a light silver paint job you might have noticed that Lagoon Silver is no longer an option on the 2021.
This is because on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade Lagoon Silver was removed as a paint option and was since replaced with Typhoon Silver. Here is the issue, both the official Hyundai website and the press materials weren’t necessarily clear on this except for the pricing sheet information which had a small asterisk next to Lagoon Silver that reads as follows.
^ S7S Discontinued with Aug 2020 Production (replaced by T2X Typhoon Silver starting in October 2020). S7S was the color code option for Lagoon Silver so any palisade built after October that is silver will be Typhoon Silver instead of Lagoon Silver.
You can actually read more about this in the full document which I have included here.
Furthermore there is an additional automatic charge for the Hyper White Color that they recommend is around $300. This is something to keep in mind if you’re shopping for a top of the line model such as the Calligraphy which only has 3 exterior color options. (White, Black, and Moonlight Cloud).
Typhoon Silver Is Slightly Different But Not Much
You will probably have a difficult time identifying the immediate differences between Lagoon Silver and Typhoon Silver but the color has been on the Hyundai Venue since launch. I do not have a readily available photo of the Typhoon Silver on the Palisade but I included a photo of it on the Venue so you can compare.
The easiest way to compare them is when you’re looking at them in person the Typhoon Silver is a bit more glossy and a bit brighter or lighter in color. Whereas the Lagoon Silver was more metallic and darker in color. You can’t go wrong with either of them though they both look great.
